Building A House: From Beginning to End   3Gen has been busy breaking ground on several new home construction sites in Williams Lake. We are trying to beat the cold weather and get the foundations in the ground. The crews have been very busy excavating and working those shovels hard. All that concrete needs to get poured and be kept at a warm enough temperature to set. During the process the plumber needs to rough in the piping as well. Kitchen Makeover

This home was originally built in 1991..... and with the gold hardware, blonde oak cabinets, and old floors, it was looking dated and lacking modern finishes. After much planning, the crew went in to start the renovation process in the kitchen. The guys took out the cabinetry which the family decided to store so they could sell them at a later date, and the flooring was removed. The old fashioned sunshine light with tray ceiling was also removed and they closed in a doorway to allow for [...]

Building Tips for Your New Home

Building Tips for Your New Home 1. Get a few bids on your house. Go with the company that you feel comfortable with and who understands your bottom line. 2. Make sure that you are not overbuilding for your neighbourhood. A home that is better and bigger than any others on the street will not command a fair price at resale. 3. Use a stock plan and make customized changes instead of getting a custom-drawn plan. 4. Avoid making changes after construction has begun. They cost more [...]

    Kitchen Islands

On trend in kitchens right now are kitchen islands. Workhouse islands have become the central feature in modern kitchens. Homeowners are opting for large, square or rectangular islands.         It is so exciting to choose a brand new kitchen and it is so challenging to keep within budget once you start looking at all the options out there. Once you finally decide on the cabinetry, hardware, maybe change some lighting, add a backsplash, you also need to decide on a countertop. Williams Lake Annual Winter Carnival
