Williams Lake Annual Winter Carnival

The Winter Carnival is a FREE community event in town on the last weekend of January. This year it was on the 28 & 29 from 10:30- 3:00. The Lions Club provided a pancake breakfast with plenty of hot coffee and hot chocolates! There were also different food vendors with lots of tasty treats. Instead of snow shoeing and cross country ski events (because of the lack of snow this year) there was tug-a-war, horseshoe toss, hockey shoot out on ice and a wonderful petting zoo. The snowball toss was more of a sock toss but that didn’t slow down the kids aim.

There was also snow art, face painting, sledding hill, karaoke and a warm bonfire! The horses worked hard pulling their wagon (instead of a sleigh) so people could enjoy a jaunt through the trees. Magician/illusionist, Jesaja Class, was there impressing the crowd. There was even free public skating happening over in the Rec Centre. What a wonderful event put on by proud members of our community.
